Three generations, one table
The Okafor family has come to Thursday dinner since 2011.
Grace Okafor first came to Thursday dinner in 2011 with her daughter, who was five. Now her daughter volunteers in the kitchen, and her granddaughter sets the tables.
This is where my family learned that asking for help and giving it are the same thing.
Grace still sits at the same end of the same table every week. She says it's the best seat in the house, because she can see everyone come in.
